BYK Magazine – Advertising & Classifieds Policy

1. Purpose of This Policy

This policy sets out the rules for all advertising placed in BYK Magazine (PDF edition) and on the BYK Classifieds section of the website. BYK is an 18+ lifestyle, culture, and community publication featuring artistic nudity and adult‑themed editorial content. We operate within UK law and the content standards required by our payment processors and hosting platform.

2. Age Restrictions

  • BYK Magazine and BYK Classifieds are strictly 18+.

  • Visitors must confirm they are 18 or over to access the site.

  • Magazine access requires a members‑only login.

  • Classifieds do not require membership but do require 18+ confirmation.

3. What Advertising We Accept

We welcome advertising that aligns with BYK’s themes of adult lifestyle, kink culture, community events, creativity, and self‑expression.

We accept:

  • Adult lifestyle brands

  • Kink, BDSM, fetish, and alternative community events

  • Workshops, talks, and educational sessions

  • Clubs, festivals, and social gatherings (non‑sexual)

  • Creators, artists, performers, and educators

  • Fashion, accessories, jewellery, and handmade goods

  • Coaching, mentoring, and lifestyle guidance (non‑sexual)

  • Retailers selling clothing, accessories, or non‑explicit items

  • Photographers, designers, and creative services

  • Editorial‑style adverts placed inside the PDF magazine

  • Paid listings in the BYK Classifieds section

All adverts must be non‑explicit and must not depict or describe sexual acts.

4. What We Do NOT Accept

To comply with UK law, Wix Payments, and our own editorial standards, we do not accept advertising for:

Prohibited categories:

  • Escorting or companionship services

  • Any form of sexual services

  • Explicit adult entertainment

  • Pornographic content or pornography platforms

  • Live sexual performances

  • Cam services

  • Explicit sexual imagery or descriptions

  • Sale of sexual acts, access, or participation

  • Content involving minors (zero tolerance)

  • Content promoting harm, abuse, or unsafe practices

  • Illegal substances or activities

  • Weapons or dangerous items

If an advert crosses into these areas, it will be rejected without refund.

5. Content Standards for All Adverts

All adverts must be:

  • Non‑explicit

  • Respectful and lawful

  • Accurate and not misleading

  • Free from hate speech, discrimination, or harassment

  • Free from graphic or sexualised imagery

  • Suitable for an 18+ lifestyle publication

Images allowed:

  • Artistic nudity (non‑sexual)

  • Lifestyle imagery

  • Fashion, accessories, creative work

  • Event photography (non‑explicit)

Images NOT allowed:

  • Genitals

  • Sexual acts

  • Fetish acts being performed

  • Pornographic poses

  • Any imagery intended to arouse

6. Classifieds Rules

The BYK Classifieds are designed for community connection, events, and adult lifestyle networking.

Allowed:

  • Event listings

  • Items for sale that meet requirements

  • Workshops and talks

  • Lifestyle coaching

  • Social meetups

  • Community groups

  • Creative services

  • Personal adverts that are non‑sexual in nature

Not allowed:

  • Requests for sexual services

  • Offers of sexual services

  • Explicit personal ads

  • “Pay‑for‑play” arrangements

  • Anything that resembles escorting or sexual transactions

We reserve the right to remove any listing that breaches these rules.

7. Advertising in the Magazine (PDF Edition)

Advertisers may purchase placement inside the BYK Magazine PDF. These adverts must follow the same rules as above.

Permitted in the PDF:

  • Artistic nudity

  • Lifestyle imagery

  • Event promotions

  • Brand promotions

  • Creative/editorial layouts

Not permitted in the PDF:

  • Pornographic content

  • Explicit sexual acts

  • Escorting or sexual services

  • Graphic fetish content

8. Payments & Refunds

  • Payments for advertising and classifieds are processed through Wix Payments.

  • BYK reserves the right to refuse or remove any advert that breaches this policy.

  • If an advert is rejected for breaching prohibited categories, no refund will be issued.

  • If an advert is rejected for layout or quality issues, we will offer one revision opportunity.

9. Liability & Responsibility

  • Advertisers are fully responsible for the accuracy and legality of their content.

  • BYK accepts no liability for the actions, services, or claims of advertisers.

  • BYK may remove any advert at any time if it is found to breach this policy or UK law.

10. Changes to This Policy

BYK may update this policy at any time to comply with legal requirements, platform rules, or editorial standards.
